The interdisciplinary research of the department focuses primarily on the law of digital autonomous systems and is accordingly oriented towards a great interdisciplinarity. On this page, some of the projects are described in more detail below.

RoboTrust

As a pilot project of the Centre Responsible Digitality (ZEVEDI), the second research project called RoboTrust is dedicated to the responsible design of human-robot interaction with anthropomorphic service robots – also in great interdisciplinarity with colleagues from computer science, as well as others.

Collaborative Research Center 805

Together with colleagues from the departments of mechanical engineering and mathematics, Janine Wendt investigated the legal handling of technical products and systems that adapt to changing environmental conditions without human intervention from 2015 to 2021 as part of the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 805.

Cooperative project KIARA

The project addresses protection and rescue of people by averting acute local hazard situations resulting from radioactive radiation sources and other hazardous (e.g., chemical) substances. Such local NBC or CBRNE scenarios often occur together with further a priori unknown hazards to the response forces and civilian population in the area of operation.
