Description

Sustainability management and reporting are becoming increasingly important for companies, politicians and society. The reasons for this are new laws, higher stakeholder expectations and global sustainability goals. The lecture discusses these reasons as well as the challenges for ecological and social action by companies. In addition, central instruments of sustainability management, e.g. life cycle assessments and key performance indicator systems, are presented and possibilities for a strategic and organizational anchoring of sustainability in companies are explained. Finally, current developments, such as new requirements for sustainability reporting, will be discussed. The course combines lectures with exercises that students work on independently. In addition, a guest lecture allows the content to be discussed with a company representative from the field.
