Philip Alexander Kraus, LL.M.

Alexander Kraus studied law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg. After his university law finals (First State Examinations) he completed a Masters degree (LL.M. European and International Law) at the Riga Graduate School of Law, where he also worked as a research assistant. Moreover he was part of an international team that reached the semi-final of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court competition.

He served his legal traineeship with the regional court (Landgericht) in Darmstadt with an elective placement at the Hessen Ministry for Justice, Integration and European Affairs, working in in the Department for the Co-ordination of European Policies in the state chancellery. He then completed his Second State Examinations to qualify as a lawyer.

Herr Kraus has been a member of the Department for Civil and Company Law since August 2011. His doctoral thesis concerns the interface between compliance, employment law and criminal trial law and has been publish by Nomos.
